Eight hours at Circuit, with the partner team on the floor all day. Nobody had to compete: the Global AI Hackathon runs online, so the day was for starting a project, finding teammates or just learning the stack.

Nebius AI Cloud & Serverless

Most teams need only a few primitives: a dev lab to prototype, jobs for finite workloads like fine-tuning or batch inference, and endpoints to serve. He took the room from a notebook to a GPU-backed endpoint without running Kubernetes, and closed with the Nebius MCP server working inside Codex and Claude.

AI agents need the web — the web wasn't built for them

Agents fail on the web for three reasons: accuracy (the web is a moving target, not a database), information density, and speed. Same query, same pipeline: the only variable is how fresh the index is, and freshness decides what the agent sees. Search, extract, crawl and map are Tavily's answers to those problems.

Think Local

Computing keeps moving closer to the person: from the town clock to the wrist, and from the computer room to the pocket. His point was that we still rent our thinking by the token, sending data to someone else's model and paying for every round trip — and that this is the last decade we'll do it. He spoke in a personal capacity.

Nebius gives free compute to open AI research, as long as the code, models, datasets or benchmarks are released — across inference optimisation, post-training, agentic systems, multimodal and physical AI. He then walked through Nebius Academy's courses and the certification track that sits beside them.

Three in four registrants build for a living.

39% of registrants were founders, C-level or leads, and another 38% engineers: AI, ML, software, data and automation. The rest were students and researchers, product people and a handful from go-to-market. Registrants named 190+ different organisations: seed-stage startups building agents, alongside people from Google, AWS, Stripe, Uber, Deutsche Bank, Trade Republic, Scalable Capital, Delivery Hero, Siemens Healthineers and DFKI.

Asked what they were building, one in five named an agent, a harness, a memory layer or an LLM workflow outright, and many more some other kind of AI product — from agentic research tools and a Slack memory agent to evaluation frameworks, AI pentesting, and a robotics deployment layer.

Academy

Free courses · workshops in Berlin on 16 October

Nebius Academy runs free, self-paced courses, from AI Cloud onboarding to a hands-on agentic AI course with a Credly badge. On Friday 16 October, Nebius holds a full day of workshops at the Volkswagen Drive Forum on LLM inference, physical AI and post-training, with certification exams on site. Registration requires host approval.
