From February to June 2026, AI Agents Berlin ran nine events on what an agent needs to transact on its own, starting with x402 — an open protocol for pay-per-request payments. Two series ran side by side, Algorand Builders Berlin and OpenClaw × Money, and the season closed with the 500+ attendee AI Agents Summit 2026.
// Registrations and check-ins are different numbers. Hackathon figures from the Luma guest export of 29 July 2026; the AIS26 figure is the Summit's own attendance count. Every count on this page is rounded down.
Season 1 had narrowed to money. Season 2 took it literally: if an agent is going to buy, sell and be paid without a person signing off each time, what does it need besides a model? The season answered in parts, one evening and one build at a time.
x402, the open protocol that lets an API charge per request and an agent pay for it on the spot — no account, no subscription. The season opened on it, and its biggest build was organised around it.
ERC-8004 for discovery, trust and reputation and ERC-8128 for authentication — the identity layer at OpenClaw × Money Part 3, and a whole track at the AI Agents Hackathon.
Security practice for deployed agents, limits on what they may do, and spending instruments built for them — sessions from Binaryx, Civic and Alchemy (Agentcard) at OpenClaw × Money Part 2.
Escrow and settlement with ERC-8183, private payments with ERC-5564 stealth addresses — and stablecoin settlement: the x402 hackathon set its prize pool in USDC.
// Topics as listed on each event's public Luma page.
Built as a funnel in four steps: learn x402, pitch an idea, prepare, then build it for 36 hours.
Payments as an internet primitive, what x402 means for AI-native products, and the launch of a Berlin builder community with a 2026 roadmap.
Team formation, ideation and a pitch competition — no technical background required. $1,000 in USDC plus $250 in GoPlausible credits, and the winners were fast-tracked into the hackathon.
Hackathon prep: a client that handles x402 payment flows and a payment-gated API on Algorand, then open office hours on project ideas.
36 hours, food and overnight included. Agentic Commerce ($11,000) and Infrastructure ($7,000) tracks plus bonus tracks from Quantoz, Alpha Arcade and Folks Finance — $21,000+ in USDC, half paid after the hackathon and half on agreed milestones. Read the hackathon recap →
760+ registrations across the four sessions came from 550+ unique people — and 130+ of them came to more than one.
The hackathon room, from its registrations: 60% builders and engineers, 35% founders and 34% students, 42 Berlin the largest single source of them (roles self-described, more than one allowed). Nearly all gave a GitHub username, 81% confirmed they could attend in person in Berlin, and 43% picked payments as an interest — against 25% for DeFi.
The programme did not start or stop with the season. It began in Season 1 with the Algorand Hackathon: AI Meets Blockchain in September 2025 — there's a one-minute film of it — and carried into Season 3 with Algorand After Hours on 10 July and the Algorand x402 Workshop & Global Challenge on 25 August.

Three evenings on agents as economic actors, hosted by AI Agents Berlin with Michael Rizhakov. The premise, from the event pages: “a world where software agents act as autonomous economic actors, transforming how we trade, create, and collaborate.”
OpenClaw skills and setup, x402 and agentic payments, memory and self-improving systems, and serverless OpenClaw deployment with a Nebius skill and Claude Code.
In the room and online: agent security, trusted deployment and autonomous payment flows, with sessions from Nebius (Token Factory), Binaryx, Civic, 4ok and Alchemy, then community presentations.
Agentic commerce, integrating x402: the agent standards stack — ERC-8004, ERC-5564, ERC-8183, ERC-8128 — a workshop on why agents no longer need API keys, and an introduction to IronClaw and NEAR Legion.
850+ registrations across three evenings, from 670+ unique people.
OPENCLAW × MONEY — PART 3 · 42 BERLIN · 18 MAY 2026
The series' capstone was ClawCamp Berlin on 28 July — 320+ registrations, and the first event of Season 3.
// Counts from the Luma guest exports of 29 July 2026, rounded down. Check-in was not run consistently at these evenings, so no attendance figure is published.
The season closed during Berlin Blockchain Week. The Summit ran 18–20 June at Spielfeld Digital Hub — 500+ attendees, 25 speakers, 4 panels. Alongside it, the 48-hour AI Agents Hackathon (19–20 June, 42 Berlin) put the season's two open questions straight into its tracks: Agentic Commerce — payments, x402, automation and subscriptions — and Agent Infrastructure — APIs, ERC-8004, identity, verifiable logs, monitoring and reputation. 390+ registered, with $4,000+ in prizes.

Season 3 — the 2026 season, July to December — widened the question to agentic commerce. ClawCamp Berlin closed the OpenClaw series on 28 July; the Algorand Foundation took x402 worldwide with the Global x402 Challenge, opened for AIB builders at the 25 August workshop; and the Agentic Economy Forum on 14 October puts the question to the people who decide what their organisations build on.
Next up: ClawCamp Berlin #2 on 5 November, then the Agentic Hackathon on 27 November at The Delta Campus. The season flagship, the Agentic Economy Forum, put 110+ in the room on 14 October — read the recap →
